The Jolly Boys

What a family, and what a location! This is in my hometown and I’ve driven past it a million times and my daughter even works here, but I had no idea what was there. Silly me! This is the Jolly Boys cabin, part of the grounds of the Huntsville Barbecue Company. There are several other little cabins there too, which I knew about, but not that they were as cute as they were. We love the food there but have always eaten take-out. No more! We must return! Especially in the summer where the evenings are magic and they have live music. Can’t wait!

p.s. This one is m y favorite.

p.p.s. The top one is called the Jolly Boys cabin because apparently back in the day, some Huntsville boys used to get together, imbibe freely, and have a good ol’ time! 🙂

??Never work with children or animals??

This image makes me laugh out loud. These cuties are the children of a friend of mine from high school. We had a great time playing on a couch set in the tall grass you can see on the right. After we were done the kids were playing around with their adorable dog and I just had to grab a few more shots. I love the personalities that shine through this casual, fun moment. My favorite images tend to be the “outtakes.”

How cute is this? These little kiddos are the sweetest ever. It wasn’t hard picking my favorite image from this family session. I am a total sucker for spontaneous moments. I had such a lovely day photographing this family and they were such troupers to brave the wild (and tall) grasses. Thank you Biesingers for such a wonderful day!

Rockin’ the Bow Tie!

‘Tis the time of year to get caught up with blogging my fall photo sessions. I have to take advantage of the Christmas break in school to get my life back in order. Just in time to hit the ground running for Spring semester!

I love this family! I have lost count of how many times I’ve been able to photograph them. We used to be neighbors and now I usually only get to see them once a year, which is sad, but at least I get to see them, which is happy! It’s so much fun watching the kids grow up. The best part of my job!

And He’s Off!

How cute is this family?
The handsome young man in black was leaving on his LDS mission and they needed their family pictures done before he left.  I’m so glad I was available!  We were down to the wire but squeezed this session in just in time.  He left just days after these were taken.  It was such a lovely session and they were troopers.  7 am!

My Valley

11X14_07I have the great honor of living in one of the most beautiful places in the world.  I won’t cause contention by stating that I think it is the absolute most beautiful place…but I may or may not feel that way.  🙂
I live in a beautiful mountain valley in Utah complete with a lake in the middle.  I live where you play.  We have hiking, biking, running, all sorts of skiing, balloon festivals, farmers markets, animals of all varieties, you name it.
We also have truly great people of which this family is one of the best.  Kind, good, wonderful people.  I just love this family.  I also love that this image was taken in their yard with the valley in the background.  I especially love the barn!  Everything about this just makes me happy!

Park City at Christmas!

03BOn December 23rd I got to visit one of my most favoritest places {Park, City Utah}, AND I got to photograph this delightful family.  They are from Texas and were here visiting for the holidays.  We had such a fun time, though they were freezing, {I felt so bad}.
They wanted pictures with snow and the mountain behind them so that was the above shot.  They also liked the fun colorful buildings in Park City {one of my favorite parts} so that is the below shot.

I made them hike all the way up the hill so we could get a few images in front of the Egyptian Theatre.  It’s one of my favorite Park City landmarks and really gives a sense of place.65BThey were staying in Eden while they were here and I was so glad for their cute little girl’s sake that Christmas morning brought us a perfect white Christmas.  It was the stuff of magic and postcards, I don’t know when I’ve seen a more beautiful day.
Thank you so much Cardwells!!
